Frequently Asked Questions:

*What are the Elementary West school hours?

School instruction hours are from 7:50 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Students should not arrive before 7:30.)

If students arrive after 7:50 a.m. they will be considered tardy. You will need to walk them into the office (buzz into building) and sign them in.

*How does breakfast and lunch work?

Breakfast is available from 7:30-7:50 a.m. every school day. Lunch times to be determined by your child’s schedule. Breakfast and lunch menus are posted on the Food Service section of our website.

Free and Reduced Applications will be available to everyone at enrollment. These MUST be filled out and returned to school BEFORE the first day of school.

Each student has a lunch account set up and will be charged each time they get a school tray. Money needs to be put into their account at the beginning of the year and we send lunch money reminder emails twice a week. Checks are made out to USD 264 or you may pay online (we would have to set this up for you).

If your child brings a sack lunch, he/she can purchase a milk for $.35

If you would like to come and have lunch with your child we ask that you call us to order a tray before 9 am. The cost of an Adult lunch $3.75.

Times and prices are subject to change for the 2022-2023 school year.

*If I need to pick my child up early or I need to have someone else pick him/her up, what do I need to do?

If your child’s way of getting home is different at any time…be sure to send a note to school OR call the office before 2 p.m. to get a note to the classroom teacher. If there is no note we will send your child home by his/her regular routine. Do not email or text your teacher with this information, because they may not have time during the school day to check their email or phones.

If you are picking your child up early, you will need to buzz into the building and come into the office to sign him/her out.

*If my child is sick or won’t be at school, what do I need to do?

If your child is sick or not going to be at school, we ask that you call us by 8:30 a.m. to let us know.
